Qui la presenza della lontra è un indice di qualità morfologica e un esempio virtuoso di ripopolamento. Zone umide, fiumi e altri corsi d’acqua, sono, infatti, tra gli ambienti in cui la perdita di biodiversità si sta manifestando in modo più marcato.
